What does this course involve?

Enhance your skills as an automotive technician or mechanic with this hands on course.

You’ll learn how to analyse and evaluate light vehicle engine and fuel system faults, install LPG and CNG fuel systems, and overhaul airconditioning components.

Find out how to develop and apply electrical and electronic systems procedures and create document specifications and procedures.

You’ll even learn how to plan and manage compliance with environmental regulations in the mechanical repair industry.

This course may provide you with employment opportunities in high demand positions such as an automotive technician, field service operator, team leader or workshop foreman.

What further study options will I have?

You may wish to progress into the Diploma of Automotive or relevant diplomas in automotive management, performance enhancement or motorsport.

You may also wish to undertake specialised short course programs such as licensing for alternative automotive fuels (LPG installation and repair) or automotive air-conditioning licensing or licensed vehicle testing.

Classes are held at various times which may include evening and weekends. Some study may be conducted off campus and combined with your on the job training.
