What does this course involve?
Combining on the job and off the job training, this course is designed for light vehicle mechanics in the automotive industry who want to develop their skills.
You’ll learn how to apply safe work practices, test and service batteries and carry out repairs to single electrical circuits. Develop your skills in servicing and repairing engine management systems, and learn how to inspect and service cooling systems.
Inspect and service manual, hydraulic and automatic transmissions, and even repair steering and suspension systems.
Entrance requirements
No formal education level is specified.
English Language Proficiency
A minimum IELTS overall score of 5.5 (Academic).
A minimum TOEFL score of 530 for paper examination; 179 for computer based and 71 for Internet based.
Special admission requirements
It is expected that participants will:
1. Have the necessary literacy and numeracy skills to undertake the program.
2. Provide and wear steel-capped safety boots or shoes.
3. Provide and wear combination type overalls.
Cost
Aus $11,500 per year
plus amenities and materials fees.

Course Structure
Certificate III in Automotive Mechanical Technology is the first stage of the pathway to the Diploma of Automotive Technology. For course content for this stage, please refer to the Units of Competency section below.
