What does this course involve?
If you want to work as a certified quarry manager of rock, sand, clay or other open pit operations, this course will give the necessary training you need. You should consider this course as the first stage of your management development.
You’ll learn how to monitor a safe workplace, and apply a site risk management and statutory compliance management plan.
Learn how to effectively supervise work teams, prepare budgets, manage blasting and dredging operations and implement site processing plant operations.
Choose from an extensive range of electives such as coordinating customer service strategies, promote continuous improvement, business planning and fostering community relations.
What employment opportunities will I have?
This course may provide you with advancement opportunities for open pit operators, leading hands and team leaders. You may progress into management positions in sales, concreting, asphalt operations and quarrying, mining or allied industry administration.
This qualification is also a prerequisite if you are seeking a Class 2 Quarry Manager's licence through the Quarry Managers Advisory Panel in Victoria.
Quarry managers give direction to employees involved in materials extraction and processing for the civil construction industry.
