What does this course involve?

Build on your Certificate II training or simply develop your skills as an operator in the extractive industries with this hands-on course.

As well as learning how to monitor a safe workplace, you will undertake training in applying a site risk management system, and a stockpile management or pit plan.

Develop your leadership skills, and learn how to supervise dust and noise control and supervise processing and mobile plant operations.

You can also choose from an extensive range of electives in financial planning, environmental work practices or dogging operations, just to name a few.

The course may lead to employment opportunities as an operator in the extractive industries.

Both Self Funded $AUD (contact the Institute) and Government Funded.

Will my previous experience or study count?

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) or Recognition of Current Competencies (RCC) takes into account the knowledge and skills you’ve already gained through your previous education and work. This may be through formal or informal training, paid or unpaid work experience, and can earn you credit if relevant to your chosen course.
