What does this course involve?
Looking for a career in the extractive industries? Or are you looking to enhance your skills as a quarry operator? This course is designed to give you the basic skills and knowledge to become a successful extractive industries operator.
You’ll learn valuable communication skills, basic first aid and how to contribute to site quality outcomes.
You can choose to study electives in:
Development - covers dewatering and grader operatorsWinning – covers water boat, barge, and bulk water truck operations, blast surveys, blast hole drilling operations, handling and transporting explosives and conducting dredging operationsSales, testing and dispatch – covers sampling, site laboratory, weighbridge and sales loader operationsProcessing – covers crushing, blending plant and sand wash plan operations, treatment and disposal of rejects and tailings, and screening operationsMaintenance – covers operational maintenance, basic cutting and welding, non-slewing and slewing crane operations
