What does this course involve?
If you’re employed as an apprentice in the fitting and machining industry, this course will give you practical and relevant skills for the job.
You will develop skills in mechanical cutting, routine welding, and performing milling and grinding operations. Find out how to set and edit computer controlled machines and processes, perform computations and interpret technical drawings.
Learn how to maintain pneumatic and hydraulic system components, as well as dismantle and assemble engineering components.
What employment opportunities will I have?
This course may provide you with employment opportunities as a fitter and turner, maintenance fitter, hydraulics fitter or a toolmaker in the metals industry.

Will my previous experience or study count?
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) or Recognition of Current Competencies (RCC) takes into account the knowledge and skills you’ve already gained through your previous education and work. This may be through formal or informal training, paid or unpaid work experience, and can earn you credit if relevant to your chosen course.
