What does this course involve?
If you’re working in the fabrication and welding industries, this course will provide you with practical training in structural fabrication, layout and development of cylinders, conical sections and transition pieces. You will also weld using a variety of processes.
You will be taught important skills in communicating effectively in the workplace and providing a safe working environment.
This course is a stream of the new National Metals and Engineering training package, and aligns with other related engineering trade training programs.

This course may provide you with employment opportunities as a boilermaker, fabricator or a welder in the metals industry.

What further study options will I have?
You may wish to progress into the Certificate IV in Engineering and then a Diploma of Engineering course.
Many trainees who develop further practical welding skills may choose to apply for any of the nine nationally renowned Welding Technology Institute of Australia certificates.
