What does this course involve?

If you’re working as a process support worker in the chemical and oil or refining industries, this course will give you essential operational, supervisory and technical skills.

You’ll learn how to relay and respond to information, respond to emergency situations and participate in workplace safety procedures.

You’ll also learn how to get the best out of operating systems, trial new process products and manage plant shut downs and restarts.

Develop your leadership and training skills, learn how to implement an operational plan and plan, conduct and review assessments.

What employment opportunities will I have?

This course may provide you with employment as a process plant operator at a supervisory level, in the chemical and oil industries.

You may wish to progress into the Diploma of Process Plant Technology.

Can I apply?

  • You must have successfully completed year 10 (or equivalent)
  • You will first complete Certificate III while working in the Chemcial or Allied Industry
  • You must be currently working in the industry and it is expected that you will have experience as an operator in order to complete the higher level competencies
