What does this course involve?

This course will give you practical and technical skills to work as a plant operator in the chemical and oil refining or distribution industries.
You will learn how to operate reactors and reaction equipment, furnaces, compressor systems and process control systems.
You will also learn how to produce products using gas absorption, fixed-bed dehydration and liquid extraction methods.
This course will also develop your skills in problem solving, performing basic tests and working effectively in teams.
What employment opportunities will I have?
A Process Plant Operator utilises sophisticated computerised equipment, in a safe and environmentally aware manner, to control the production processes and quality in both the chemical and oil industries.
This course may provide you with employment as a process plant operator with slighly more senior positions than those sought after completion of the Certificate II in Process Plant Operations. Operators working at this level will have responsibility for a unit within the plant.
