Box Hill Institute’s Centre for Information and Communications Technology (ICT) offers a wide range of TAFE and degree qualifications and short courses for those seeking a career in the ICT industry.
This includes areas such as:
- computer technology
- communications
- networking
- programming
- photonics
- sustainability
- library information systems.
Students are exposed to practical experience on the latest equipment, while gaining a sound theoretical background.
Box Hill Institute’s Centre for Information and Communication Technology is a globally recognised, leading provider for information and communication technology. It is a leading Cisco Networking Academy and
the only Super Cisco Academy Training Centre (sCATC) for Australia, New Zealand and the Asia-Pacific area, training students in the full range of Cisco Network Academy courses.
As an Apple Authorised Training Centre [AATC (IT Pro)] for Apple Mac support and networking, Box Hill Institute is the first AATC (IT Pro) in Asia Pacific, one of only two AATCs (IT Pro) in Australia and the only AATC (IT Pro) within an Australian educational organisation.
Box Hill institute is also a:
- certified Microsoft Platinum Training Provider
- testing centre for Pearson-VUE and Prometric which covers all industry certifications.
The Victorian Government appointed Box Hill Institute the lead agent for the Victorian Specialist Centre for Information and Communications Technology. The role requires the Institute to provide leadership in the development and delivery of innovative and specialist training in the ICT area.
Box Hill Institute students are given the opportunity to study overseas through our Global Educator Network (GEN) program.
Mainstream courses offered by the centre include certificates, diplomas and advanced diplomas, graduate certificates, associate degrees and bachelor degrees.
Wherever possible, industry-accredited training is integrated into TAFE and degree programs. Similarly, a major focus of the centre’s short courses is to provide the opportunity to obtain industry certifications.
The centre has partnerships and associations with Cisco Systems, Apple, Microsoft, Hewlett Packard, Agilent, Oracle, Sun and the Computing Technology Industry Association (CompTIA),.
Skilled staff
Staff are in tune with the latest innovations and technological developments. Many have spent time teaching, researching and training overseas (Asia, Canada, India and the US). Box Hill Institute has relationships with training and educational organisations around the world, creating exciting opportunities for study and employment for our students and staff.
Our facilities
The Centre for Information Communication and Technology is located in a modern building at Nelson Campus with well-equipped, state-of-the-art, industry standard networking labs as well as electronic workshops and computer labs.
Programs are delivered though various modes including:
- on campus (full time or part time)
- at the workplace
- distance learning (flexible – at home or by correspondence)
