What does this course involve?

This course will give you high-level security management and design skills for work in a range of areas.

You will develop your skills in project management risk analysis, and security control and perimeter design.

You will learn how to ensure website, network and operational security, manage websites and servers and build highly-secure firewalls.

This course will also teach you to identify technical security requirements, prepare security risk management plans and undertake complex design briefs.

This course aligns informally with the CISSP vendor qualification.

This course is also available to international students.

What further study options will I have?

You may wish to progress into the Associate or Bachelor Degree of Computer Systems (Networking) at Box Hill Institute (providing you have completed all units in the Diploma of Information Technology (Networking) or Advanced Diploma of Computer Systems).

Can I apply?

  • You must have successfully completed a Diploma of Information Technology (any stream) or be a mature age applicant with appropriate experience for direct entry. Depending on your stream choices, extra studies in networking may be required.
  • Applicants with appropriate tertiary qualifications may also undertake this qualification

How do I apply?

  • To apply for a full time position in this course you must use the Victorian Tertiary Admissions Centre (VTAC) process. Details of the VTAC application process are at www.vtac.edu.au and in the VTAC Guide, which is available from leading newsagents and libraries from August. If the Institute still has vacancies after the VTAC places have been offered, you will be able to apply directly to the Institute.

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) or Recognition of Current Competencies (RCC) takes into account the knowledge and skills you’ve already gained through your previous education and work. This may be through formal or informal training, paid or unpaid work experience, and can earn you credit if relevant to your chosen course.
