What does this course involve?
This course provides you with practical training in database administration, database programming, software development programming and computer applications programming.
The course places heavy emphasis on Oracle databases, Microsoft Visual Studio and Sun Java programming, customer communication, quality and project management. Students participate in realistic programming experiences using real projects for real clients.
By the end of the first year of full-time study, students successfully completing all units will be eligible for a Certificate IV in IT(General).
By the end of the second year of full-time study, students successfully completing all units will attain a triple qualification:
- Diploma of IT (Database Design and Development)
- Diploma of IT (Software Development)
- Diploma of IT (Website Development)
Industry standard vendor qualifications in SUN and Oracle are also available as part of this course.
Entrance requirements
Australian Year 12 or equivalent with a pass. Relevant senior employment experience in industry will be considered.
English Language Proficiency
A minimum IELTS overall score of 5.5 (Academic).
A minimum TOEFL score of 530 for paper examination; 179 for computer based and 71 for Internet based.
Special admission requirements
Satisfactory completion of Certificate IV in Information Technology (General) is required before undertaking a Diploma of Information Technology.

Course Structure
You must have successfully completed (or be about to complete) the Certificate IV in Information Technology (General). You will then be required to undertake a further year of full-time study to complete the Diploma of IT Units of Competency listed below.
