What does this course involve?

If hairdressing is your career and running a salon is your ambition, this course covers the necessary techniques for you to progress to salon management.

Entrance requirements

  • Australian Year 11 or equivalent
  • Instruction is in English, thus ability to handle written and verbal communication in English is essential
  • Some evidence of interest and aptitude in hairdressing would be an advantage

English Language Proficiency

  • A minimum IELTS overall score of 5.5 (Academic).
  • A minimum TOEFL score of 530 for paper examination; 179 for computer based and 71 for Internet based.

None.

Cost

$AUD11,800 per year, plus equipment and material costs of $AUD1,900 for the Certificate III in Hairdressing plus a further $AUD200 for the Diploma of Hairdressing Salon Management plus amenities fees.

Course Structure

Diploma of Hairdressing Salon Management is the second and final stage of the pathway to the Diploma of Hairdressing Salon Management. The content for this stage is detailed in the Units of Competency section below. For content of stage 1 please refer to Certificate III in Hairdressing


All fees shown are in Australian dollars and do not include living or accommodation expenses. All fees quoted are the 2009 calendar year indicative fees and are correct at the time of print. In subsequent calendar years, fees may be subject to a small increase in line with annual Institute fee pricing reviews. This qualification may have prerequisites, co-requisite or bridging units from lower or higher level qualifications. For further clarification please seek advice from the Institute.
