What does this course involve?
This is the hands-on way to prepare for a career in hairdressing.
This three-year apprenticeship course gives you both the theory classes and practical on-the-job training. You’ll learn the necessary skills, from the basics such as how to maintain a clean, safe and efficient workplace, to how to communicate effectively with those around you.
By the time you complete this course you will be qualified to treat, cut, colour and style hair, coordinate a salon team and sell various products and services.
As a hairdressing student at Box Hill Institute you will be encouraged to participate in competitions and industry awards, such as the Victorian Hairdressing Beauty Association’s Apprentice of the Year Award, where Box Hill Institute has a great reputation.

Completion of this course enables you to progress to the Certificate IV in Hairdressing or the Diploma of Hairdressing Salon Management.
