What does this course involve?

If the beauty industry is your passion, this is the course for you. This course gives you in-depth, practical know-how across the full range of specialised beauty services.

It will give you the understanding of interaction between client and therapist, the underpinning scientific knowledge, and prevention of disease and its transmission within the salon environment.

The course also involves planning and providing spa treatments, facials and body massages, wraps and hot stone treatments.

This course is also available to international students.

What further study options will I have?

On successful completion of the Diploma of Beauty Therapy and having gained industry experience, you may apply to other higher education organisations to further your studies.

Can I apply?

  • You must have completed year 11 of education, or be mature age
  • You must have sufficient literacy, numeracy and visual interpretation skills to successfully complete the course
  • You must be 17 years or over (or mature age)

How do I apply?


  • To apply for a full time position in this course you must use the Victorian Tertiary Admissions Centre (VTAC) process. Details of the VTAC application process are at www.vtac.edu.au and in the VTAC Guide, which is available from leading newsagents and libraries from August. If the Institute still has vacancies after the VTAC places have been offered, you will be able to apply directly to the Institute.
