What does this course involve?

This course will give you the essential skills to administer remedial, sports and therapeutic massage under supervision.

You’ll learn how to work within a massage framework, plan and provide massage treatments and perform health assessments.

Learn how to communicate with clients and use specific health terms, administer a practice and know when to refer clients to other health care professionals.

You’ll also contribute to Occupational Health and Safety processes and comply with infection control policies and procedures.

What employment opportunities will I have?

This course may provide you with massage therapist employment opportunities working under supervision, as a self-employed individual or in a group practice with other health professionals.

  • day spas

What further study options will I have?

You may wish to progress into the Diploma of Remedial Massage.

Can I apply?

  • You must be mature age
  • You must have a current Working with Children Check
  • You must have a current National Police Record Check
  • You must have basic computer skills

For traineeship applicants:

  • You must have previously registered with an Australian Apprenticeship Centre
  • You must have a training contract with an employer

How do I apply?

  • To apply for a full time position in this course you must use the Victorian Tertiary Admissions Centre (VTAC) process. Details of the VTAC application process are at www.vtac.edu.au and in the VTAC Guide, which is available from leading newsagents and libraries from August. If the Institute still has vacancies after the VTAC places have been offered, you will be able to apply directly to the Institute.
