What does this course involve?

This course will give you the necessary skills and knowledge for working with children and youth involved in child protection, youth justice and supported accommodation systems.
You’ll develop skills in providing care, protection and support services to young people.
You’ll develop case-planning and communication skills, and learn to facilitate cooperative behaviour.
You’ll receive an introduction to mental health work and the alcohol and drugs sector, as well as learn advanced first aid skills.
Entrance requirements
Australian Year 12 or equivalent with a pass. Relevant senior employment experience in industry will be considered.
English Language Proficiency
A minimum IELTS overall score of 5.5 (Academic).
A minimum TOEFL score of 530 for paper examination; 179 for computer based and 71 for Internet based.
Special admission requirements
Students will be required to attend an interview or provide additional information in a placement test for assessment. Contact International Student Services for details.
Cost
Aus $9,500 per year
plus amenities and materials fees.
