This course is delivered with the Certificate III in Aged Care Work to give you a dual qualification on successful completion.
The course will give you the essential skills and knowledge to care for people in a home setting.
You will learn how to work effectively in a home and community care environment, gain valuable communication skills and facilitate cooperative behaviour in clients and colleagues.

This course may provide you with employment opportunities in:
- local government
- community organisations
- home and community care (HACC) services
- aged care facilities

What further study options will I have?
You may wish to progress into aged care or health-related courses such as the Certificate IV in Health (Nursing), the Certificate IV in Disability Work or the Certificate IV in Lifestyle and Liesure.
Can I apply?
- You must have a current National Police Record Check
- You must possess a mature disposition and have a genuine interest in the care of older people
- You will be required to sit a basic literacy and numeracy test at the compulsory information session
