What does this course involve?
If you want to work in a sterilizing service or department, this course gives you the necessary skills. Some of the varied activities include: how to comply with infection control policies and procedures in health work, identifying and maintaining a sterile field, safe manual handling practices, and effective communication in the health area.
This qualification is suited to Australian Apprenticeship pathways.

What further study options will I have?
On successful completion of Certificate III you can continue on to complete Certificate IV in Sterilisation Services.
Can I apply?
- You must have a current National Police Record Check
- You must possess a mature disposition and have a genuine interest in the care of people
- You must demonstrate skills in literacy and numeracy by completing a VETASSESS literacy and numeracy test at a cost of around $45. To find out how to book a test, visit www.vetassesstest.com.au
For traineeship applicants:
- You must have previously registered with an Australian Apprenticeship Centre
- You must have a training contract with an employer
