What does this course involve?
This course has a distinctive systems focus which trains you to manage computers and computer networks. You learn strong practical skills in computer maintenance, operating systems, network configuration and maintenance, interface design and use of the internet and internetworking technologies.
The course includes all the training needed to prepare you for internationally recognised, industry certifications from Cisco, CompTIA and Microsoft.
Entrance requirements
Australian Year 12 or equivalent with a pass. Relevant senior employment experience in industry will be considered.
English Language Proficiency
A minimum IELTS overall score of 5.5 (Academic).
A minimum TOEFL score of 530 for paper examination; 179 for computer based and 71 for Internet based.
Special admission requirements
Studies in mathematics and information technology to Year 12 level (or equivalent) are recommended.

You may wish to progress into the Bachelor of Computer Systems (Networking) at Box Hill Institute and receive up to 18 months of credits.

Course Structure
The Advanced Diploma of Computer Systems Engineering comprises five competency units and is divided into four stages. Each stage represents six months of full-time study (one semester). Stage one provides a broad based understanding of computer systems, while the subsequent stages develop your understanding and skills in operating systems, networks and programming.
Once you have successfully completed the four stages you will have passed all the underpinning skills and knowledge required and shown attainment of the following five high level competencies.
