What does this course involve?

This course is designed to give you the essential skills and knowledge to start your career as an accounting professional.

You will learn how to prepare income tax returns, manage budgets and forecasts and prepare financial reports.

You will also gain skills in implementing internal control procedures and providing management accounting information.

This course will also develop your communication skills, and knowledge of professional practices within the financial services industry.

What employment opportunities will I have?

This course leads to work as:

  • an assistant for company financial reporting
  • an assistant in financial management projects
  • costing projects officer

  • You must have successfully completed Year 12 (VCE) of education, or equivalent
  • You must also be able to demonstrate competency in the underpinning knowledge required for this course which can be found in the Certificate IV Financial Services (Accounting)
  • You must possess the motivation and enthusiasm to complete this course of study
  • You must demonstrate an ability to collect, analyse and organise information and correspond effectively
  • You must demonstrate a genuine interest in becoming an accounting professional
