What does this course involve?
This course will give you the required skills and knowledge to work as an agents’ representative in Victoria under the Estate Agents’ (Education) Regulation 2004.
You’ll learn how to work ethically and effectively in the real estate industry.
You’ll develop an understanding of how the industry works, basic legal principles relating to property sales and property management, and how to complete documents required for selling and leasing property.
You’ll also learn how to address legal and ethical requirements of property sales and management.

- You must have successfully completed Year 12 VCE or its equivalent, or have one year of relevant industry experience
- You must possess the motivation and enthusiasm to complete this course of study
- You must demonstrate an ability to collect, analyse and organise information and correspond effectively
- You must demonstrate a genuine interest in becoming an agents' representative

Unit of Competency Details
The course comprises of three units
VBN723 – Work effectively in the real estate industry - (16 hours)
This unit of competency covers the skills and knowledge required to work ethically and effectively in a real estate agency. This includes applying knowledge of ethical and conduct standards, the core functions of real estate agency operation, the legislative framework within which the industry operates in Victoria and industry employment requirements.
This course is assessed by formal tests and written assignments.
Unit 1: comprises one assignment and one test
Unit 2: comprises two assignments and two tests
Unit 3: comprises one assignment and one test
VBN724 – Address legal and ethical requirements of property sales - (30 hours)
This unit of competency covers the skills and knowledge required to meet the core legal and ethical requirements associated with property sales in Victoria. This includes applying knowledge of legislation related to property sales, the role and responsibility of agency personnel in property sales, the administration of sales transactions and the completion of sales documentation.
VBN725 – Address legal and ethical requirements of property management - (24 hours)
This unit of competency covers the skills and knowledge required to meet the core legalAnd ethical requirements associated with property management in Victoria. This includes applying knowledge of legislation dealing with the leasing and management of property, the role and responsibility of agency personnel in property management, the recording of property management transactions and the completion of property management documentation.
