Human Resources staff are a vital part of any business. This course gives you a solid preparation for work in this field.
You'll learn skills that are common across all human resource operations roles. The course provides a focus on developing your presentation skills as well as coordinating human resource services, recruitment processes and developing effective workplace relationships.
Other areas covered include issues in employee relations, working in teams and production of business documents.
This course is also available to international students.
What employment opportunities will I have?
Almost all businesses require a human resources department to oversee staff hiring and termination, salaries and the general well-being of employees. Typical employers include large private enterprises, large government organisations and human resource recruitment consultancies. At the Certificate IV level, administration roles within the human resources area include administrative positions in a human resources environment.

- Recruitment
- Occupational health and safety
- Employee and industrial relations
- Computerised human resources management record systems.

You may wish to apply for a place in the Diploma of Business (Human Resources).
Can I apply?
- You must have successfully completed Year 12 including English and three other subjects education, or the equivalent
- Mature age entry is available if you do not meet the academic requirements
How do I apply?
- To apply for a full time position in this course you must use the Victorian Tertiary Admissions Centre (VTAC) process. Details of the VTAC application process are at www.vtac.edu.au and in the VTAC Guide, which is available from leading newsagents and libraries from August. If the Institute still has vacancies after the VTAC places have been offered, you will be able to apply directly to the Institute.
