What does this course involve?

This course is designed for those looking for a career as a draftsperson in the architectural or building design industries.

You’ll learn about the general principles behind construction, design, drawing and drafting. Develop your skills in producing commercial drawings, applying construction technology and evaluating construction materials.

Learn how to provide design solutions for private and small residential dwellings, use sketching presentation techniques to communicate your concepts and produce 2D and 3D solid models using computer-aided design (CAD).

You’ll analyse world architectural history to give you a better understanding of drafting concepts, as well as how to incorporate sustainable design elements into your designs.

Entrance requirements

Australian Year 12 or equivalent with a pass. Relevant senior employment experience in industry will be considered.

English Language Proficiency

A minimum IELTS overall score of 5.5 (Academic).
A minimum TOEFL score of 530 for paper examination; 179 for computer based and 71 for Internet based.

Special admission requirements

Year 12 mathematics (or equivalent).

Cost

Aus $9,500 per year
plus amenities and materials fees.
