What does this course involve?
If you already have some skills on an instrument or voice and want to pursue a career in the music industry, this course is ideal. It is a two year program incorporating a Certificate IV in Music in the first stage. The second stage of the course enhances your performance skills and knowledge in readiness for the music industry or further study.
You’ll attend practical workshops and tutorials covering solo, ensemble and improvisation skills, music analysis skills, creating music for publication, music business and basic arranging. You’ll aim to develop a self-disciplined approach to intensive performance practice techniques, high level improvisational skills and creative endeavour in music making and writing. Networking with other musicians is a feature of the course and culminates in the production of events/gigs designed and implemented by the student body.
Additional units that do not appear in the current listing may be offered to enhance studies in this course.
