What does this course involve?

If you love music and working in the music industry, then this course is an ideal way to get started in the business. The Diploma of Music Industry (Business) course provides you with the knowledge and skills to work in the music industry in a variety of careers.

You’ll work in real business scenarios including; Record Company; Artist Management; Events Management; Lighting and Sound Hire and Booking Agency, all within our innovative Music Industry Business Office (MiBO), and gain access to a ready-made network of industry contacts and practising specialists.

You will gain vital music industry skills, including legal and business requirements; marketing and promotions; budgets and planning; music technologies; artist and event management and licensing of published works.

What employment opportunities will I have?

This course provides knowledge and skills for you to pursue a career in the music industry in a variety of directions including roles such as booking agent, music events assistant, artist management assistant.

What further study options will I have?

Once you graduate you can apply for entry into the second year of our Bachelor of Applied Business in Music Industry (3 year degree course). A maximum of 48 credit points may be granted.

Can I apply?

  • You must have successfully completed VCE or equivalent or be of mature age
  • You should have some experience of music performance

How do I apply?

  • To apply for a full time position in this course you must use the Victorian Tertiary Admissions Centre (VTAC) process. Details of the VTAC application process are at www.vtac.edu.au and in the VTAC Guide, which is available from leading newsagents and libraries from August. If the Institute still has vacancies after the VTAC places have been offered, you will be able to apply directly to the Institute.

    Both Self Funded $AUD 6,760.00 (per year) and Government Funded.
