Areas of Responsibility

Angela’s role is to provide leadership across Box Hill Institute to ensure that students have a positive learning experience.

Her responsibilities include the management of systems and procedures in relation to student concerns and assisting centre managers and other Institute staff in the management of student-related issues. There is also a particular focus on learning options for the youth cohort and she is senior management’s point of contact with local secondary schools and the Local Learning and Employment Network (LLEN).

Quality is a key focus of Angela’s position. She leads in the planning and implementation of the Institute’s customer satisfaction surveys and the development of appropriate improvement strategies and is responsible for the implementation of quality teaching systems including compliance with the Australian Quality Training Framework.

Angela is also responsible for providing leadership for the continued extension of technologies, including communications technologies, into teaching practices across the Institute.

Professional Background

Angela has had over 20 years experience as a TAFE practitioner in both teaching and management roles in the business/administration areas at three TAFE Institutes.

Before assuming the position of General Manager – Students and Learning early in 2003 Angela successfully ran a large teaching centre (Centre for Business Programs) offering a number of recurrent and fee-for-service programs including managing projects in run from the Institute and off-shore in Fiji, Vietnam and China. Angela has a record of achievement in the design and delivery of curriculum, and the implementation of innovative delivery models including enterprise based assessment models and the Practice Firm concept. She was a statewide examiner for five years during an earlier period of her career.

Angela sits on the Institute Board of Studies and is currently on the Board of Management of the Gateway Local Learning and Employment Network and is a member of AHRI and the Institute of Public Affairs.
