| Thank you to the many writers who entered the Avant Press-Box Hill Institute 2008 Short Story Competition. We received entries from all over Australia on this year's theme "Just Add Water". First, second and third places will be listed on this webpage before the end of September 2008. Also listed will be the commended entries. The prizes are: * First place $250.
* Second place $150.
* Third place $75. All prize winners and commended entries receive a complimentary copy of the Avant 2008 Anthology which will feature their stories. The Avant 2008 Anthology will be launched by Age columnist Catherine Deveny at Angus & Robertson Bookstore, Box Hill Centro Shopping Centre (VIC), on Thursday 27 November 2008, 6.30-7.30pm.
