| The methodology students learn is applicable to all styles of dance and the system of teaching can be applied to all existing examination systems. The focus is on understanding ‘how’ each exercise and step is understood and executed by the student, and ensuring that teachersare able to settheir own schedule for the introduction of basic skills and degrees of difficulty to suit their students and class structure. The graded programs have been developed by Laurel Martyn OBE and have resulted from her many years of experience in the field and her belief that it is important to develop systems that suit Australian conditions and requirements. Theycan be applied to professional and recreational students alike. Laurel was a founding member of the committee that implemented the course for the associate diploma and much of her valuable work has been incorporated in the course. |
