Course Accreditation

The Diploma of Dance (Teaching and Management) has national accreditation.

The Associate Diploma of Dance Instruction and Management received accreditation in 1989, with the first student intake in 1990. It was re-accredited in 1996 as the current course, and was again re-accredited in 2001.

One of the main goals in the re-accreditation process was to align the new course to the Australian Guidelines for Dance Teachers. These guidelines were published in 1997 by the Australian Dance Council (Ausdance) on behalf of Australian dance teaching and training organisations. They outline codes of ethical and professional behaviour and emphasise the importance of safe dance practice and teaching methodology, and represent the first step in developing national dance industry competency standards. Aligning our course with these guidelines ensures that your studies are abreast of the latest developments in the dance teaching industry.

The course aims to prepare students to teach effectively, use safe dance proctices and employ professional practices, thus ensuring that our graduates are sought after as employees within the dance industry.
