Audio Production

Box Hill Institute Centre for Performing Arts is at the cutting edge for audio production training bringing trained and highly experienced industry personnel to this leading education facility. Together with our industry partner Digidesign, the Centre operates as the only Pro School in Victoria and offers training that is aligned with the Digidesign Education and Training programs. Pro Tools is the number one hard disk recording system in the world and industry needs trained experts ready to deliver high quality product. You can choose from a range of options from our short intense weekend courses, through to on the job training from our experienced trainers in your work place.

For those who have an interest in music production who would like to study all aspects using analog and digital systems, the Centre offers two further options.

  • The Advanced Diploma of Audio Production, which is a full fee paying course, that is suited to those already working in the industry and is offered as a night course (two to three nights per week) over three years.
  • The Bachelor of Applied Music is a full time three-year course and is suitable for those who already have a music background, play an instrument (or sing) and wish for a more comprehensive music industry education.

These courses cover all aspects of music production from analog systems, audio electronics, computer music production systems, synchronisation of audio to film, music editing, live sound, production styles, MIDI applications as well as a grounding in basic musicianship and music business. Graduates from the Centre for Performing Arts have gone on to work in some of Melbourne’s leading studios.
