International students, exchanges and trainingThe Centre for Hospitality and Tourism Studies has extended its reputation nationally and internationally attracting a growing number of International students each year. International students study alongside local students and benefit from the employment opportunities offered in all of our courses. In 2002 CHATS filled over 170 vacancies with international students by organising paid work at the Australian Grand Prix, Football Grand Finals and Melbourne Cup Racing Carnival. Local Hospitality Management students have an opportunity to study their final semester with our Global Education Network partners in Canada at Southern Alberta Institute of Technology and/or in the USA at Colorado Mountain College. The Centre has successfully completed several International projects such as pre-opening training for the Sheraton Hotels (Phuket and Bangkok), and will continue its relationship with the Sheraton group offering operational training for its openings across China in 2003. |
