Building and Furniture Studies

Who we are

Box Hill Institute’s Centre for Building and Furniture Studies is a working partnership between industry, education and the community. The Centre is successful at giving students the best possible chance of gaining employment, retraining for further employment and the confidence to achieve in our industry.

The Centre for Building and Furniture Studies is highly regarded by industry and statutory bodies as a leader in this field of vocational education and training. Our clients range from individuals and small business to large corporations.

What we do

The Centre for Building and Furniture Studies delivers quality training across a range of areas including:

  • Building Construction, Design and Drafting
  • Furniture Making and Cabinet Making
  • General Construction – Carpentry, Framework, Formwork and Finishing
  • Off-Site – Shopfitting, Joinery and Stair Building
  • Plumbing – General and Licence Registration.

The Centre aspires to deliver a high level of service to our students through current and relevant courses delivered by highly qualified and professional teachers. We strive to instill core values such as quality work, career satisfaction and self-confidence.

Our facilities

The Centre has up-to-date training facilities for delivery of all aspects of the programs at Elgar Campus. For the practical component, we maintain facilities and equipment to a high standard to ensure training is consistent with current industry practices and requirements.
